It’s that time of year, shoppers! Time to find that perfect gift for your partner. But aside from obvious things, like socks or a necktie, how do you go about figuring out what to buy them? Now, I know that these days, budgets across the country aren’t exactly bursting with excess cash, yet we still want to express ourselves and our love through the tradition of gift giving around Hanukkah and Christmas.
How do you know what to buy? — thrifty or expensive, the question remains the same.
In the tradition of the season, I am gifting you with some questions whose answers from your partner might elicit the very answer(s) you seek. Ask some (or all) of these… what to do with the answers is up to you, but I think that the answers will set you on the path of finding the perfect gift(s) you seek.
What's your favorite date we've been on?
What's a skill you think we could learn together?
If you could craft the ultimate "last meal," what would it be?
If you could live in any historical era, which would you pick?
What gives you butterflies?
What's your favorite memory we've made together?
What's something we haven't tried together that you want to? (note that this could be sexual in nature, or not — it fits either way, so feel free to slant it a bit to suit you)
What makes you feel sexy?
What does self-care look like for you, in a perfect world?
When did you realize that you loved me?
What makes you feel loved?
Armed with the answers to one or more of these questions, you should be well on your way to the mall or website(s) of your choice to buy that perfect gift!
